Renewable Heat Incentive launches
The end of November 2011 finally saw the introduction of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for commercial properties. This means many non-domestic properties can now benefit from a Government incentive scheme for solar thermal and heat pump systems, as well as for biomass.
The RHI should encourage more businesses to consider renewable heat – particularly as gas prices are continuing to rise. Businesses with a high hot water requirement during the daytime in summer will find solar thermal particularly attractive.
